Had the privilege of hearing Dr. Mike Weber, Superintendent of Schools for Port Washington-Saukville, present to our Rotary Club on the topic of “Helping Children Build Optimism in Their Lives.” The students and teachers of this school district are lucky to have such an inspiring leader. It was an excellent topic and so important. I found some of his advice particularly profound. That being that the most effective way to teach optimism is by adult example and to be an absolute role model for your children.
So true! In order to provide my two girls with the best role model possible and an environment filled with optimism, I know that I have to strive to be the best version of myself. I can’t instill optimism if I myself aren’t inspired by what the future holds. This is not always easy and I fail often, but it is my duty to keep trying.
I hope your day is great and that you too strive to be the best version of yourself!
